Berlin is a city that gets into your heart. Many had told me lots of great things about it, but I never expected that much. I was impressed from the first moment, almost a little bit surprised given my expectations. Without any doubt it gave me one of my best time ever.
Arriving from the busy London, I found myself in one of the main squares – Alexanderplatz – surrounded by a few people and an unexpected silence. Vast spaces, low and almost too simple buildings, only the 368 meters Television Tower standing out in the sky and a peace that allowed you to hear your cleats shoes.
A few days are already enough to get the essence of Berlin, a city that made our history and that still has so much to tell. But apart from the historical facts that we all know, the city has so many aspects that perhaps not everyone would expect. It’s incredibly relaxed, pleasant, friendly to anyone who lives it. The city is resplendent with art, music, creativity. When there in town I heard the best music, danced in the best clubs, laughed with the sunniest people. And all this in a quiet, almost peaceful atmosphere. And so cheap, Berlin is so incredibly cheap!! Really, I just had the impression that people don’t give a damn about how you dressed up, what you’re doing or whatever, they just want to have a nice time.. maybe listening to good music, that is so easy to find everywhere. Believe me, people in Berlin are mad .. but there is a sense of serenity that unites them all.
People move slower, does not scream, does not transmit stress at all. Coming from London, Berlin seemed to me a place where young madness can live happily.
But I still have so many places to see in this city, so many emotions to live. We’re coming back in a few weeks Berlin, only good feelings!
